Here are initiatives that we proudly launched:

NO PLASTIC CUP & STRAW AT ALL

Plastic straws are out – in their place are compostable, edible straws made of rice paper. Paper & glass cups are used throughout the resort premise. These are not only better for the environment but also healthier for our guests. What if 8 billion people all say “It’s just one straw”?

PAPERLESS NEWSPAPER & MAGAZINES

The resort is paperless whenever possible. As such, newspapers and magazines are available on PressReader app, accessible at no extra charge

EXCLUSIVE ECO-FRIENDLY IN-ROOM AMENITIES

In September 2021, Pullman Phu Quoc Beach Resort officially introduced its exclusive eco-friendly in-room amenities of 99.9% petroleum plastic-free. Being the pioneer within Pullman properties worldwide, this newest island playground provides guests with plenty of biodegradable amenities such as; wheat husk toothbrushes, a wooden comb, cornstarch razor and paper stick cotton buds wrapped in non-woven packaging. The new collection of amenities is a firm commitment to preserving the island’s naturally beautiful environments with sustainability initiatives and brand promises to ensure the resort is positively impacting the planet.

TOWEL, BED LINEN & TOILETRY POLICY

We encourage our guests to help us protect the environment by placing used towels on the floor to indicate they wish to be provided with a clean supply. Towels placed on racks and hung up will not be changed.

Bed linen is scheduled to be changed every 2 days. Nonetheless, guests can tell us if they would like to have bed linen changed more frequently.

In addition, for sustainable development goals, guests are inspired to reduce the number of single-use amenities by reusing toiletry kit with shampoo, shower gel, razors, etc., during their stay. However, if they wish to renew daily, we are pleased to assist.

Savings made on water and energy are used to fund tree planting. One tree is planted every minute.

SANDALS & SLIPPERS PROPER REUSE

The beach sandals and fabric slippers are available in guest room and we will reuse them in the number of times allowed to minimize the footprint on our planet.

SUSTAINABLE ACTIONS WITH FOOD AND BEVERAGE

In our restaurants & bars, we are committed to:

– Offering healthy, balanced and high-quality food: we use products from the locals. This means decreased pollution from transportation, less packaging and better life for the island’s inhabitants.

– Reducing & Recycling food waste

– Banning the use of overfished species in our restaurants

REGULAR BEACH CLEANING

Heartists from each department will gather and spend an hour to do the cleaning of private beach and surrounding areas. It is estimated that each cleaning session will collect about 30kg of trash washed up on the beach. Our purpose is to raise awareness about the cleanliness of the beach, to reduce litter, protect our ocean and help to educate on the impact of littering and plastic pollution.

GLASS BOTTLE APPLIED

In August 2022, aluminum water cans are replaced with reusable glass bottles for a brighter world in the future. This is an ideal solution to help reduce the use of single-use plastics, lower carbon footprint, and dramatically reduce canned water costs without compromising water quality or taste. This new initiative marks another milestone in our resort’s fight against plastic.

BLOOD DONATION ON A QUARTERLY BASIS

At Pullman Phu Quoc Beach Resort, we believe that “A drop of blood we give – A life we save”.

Our Heartists are highly appreciated to give a hand in donating blood to hospitals on Phu Quoc island & Kien Giang province.

So far, hundreds of our Heartists have donated dozens of times, positively contributing to the society.
